Giving Thanks, And A Pre-Welcome, For Businesses To Come

After a few weeks discussing and mourning the loss, and eventual loss, of favorite businesses (Paseo and Swingside Cafe,) today Fremocentrist wants to focus on and give thanks for the arrival of new places to come.

Signs have been posted in two storefront windows owned by Peck Properties.  One, at the former location of the Fremont Starbucks, assures passersby that another business (‘not a coffee shop’) will soon be opening there.  Another, at the former Lamb’s Ear storefront between Portage Bay Goods and Essenza, promotes Liten – ‘a little mining camp showcasing handcrafted fine jewelry with organic and meaningful shapes using pure and sustainable precious metals, along with unique gifts and homegoods.’

Fremocentrist.com also has permission to pass along rumors of a restaurant due to open in February 2015 in the former Deluxe Junk location, pending approval by the City of Seattle permits department.  An established Fremont restaurant has leased the space, from Doric Lodge #92, and has begun build-out for a new eatery where Fremonsters will be able to enjoy delicious dishes and drinks in the near future.

There are, hopefully, hundreds of reasons you are thankful this year, but add to it the good news welcomed by those of us who shop small businesses year ‘round.  Yay!
