The most curmudgeonly character in The Center of the Universe has inspired a local playwright to create ‘Lydia And The Troll’, a magical new musical being produced by Seattle Repertory Theatre.

On June 3rd, at 7:30p, everyone is invited to go behind the scenes for a ‘Plays In Process’ event.  With book, music and lyrics by Justin Huertas, ‘Lydia And The Troll’ centers on an origin story for the Fremont Troll.  Through live performance, and the puppetry of Guy Garrison, this mystical musical will come to the stage with the steady hand of director Ameenah Kaplan.  On June 3rd, this fourth ‘Plays In Process’ will take audiences behind the curtain of this creative and mythical production.

This ‘Plays In Process’ will take audience into the development of the shadow puppetry used in ‘Lydia And The Troll’, behind-the-scenes song writing insight, and commentary by the director.  This presentation will feature a performance by Kirsten deLohr Helland and musician, arranger, and music director Steven Tran.

Single-tickets to the ‘Plays In Process’ for ‘Lydia And The Troll’ are available now through SeattleRep.org.  The suggested price is $20.  Tickets are also available for ‘A Ritchie Valens Musical’ on June 26th.  Reservations are required for both presentations, and pay-what-you-choose options are available.  Find out more on SeattleRep.org (click here.)
