
From the “only in Fremont” files, a large heart was hung on the bronze sculpture of Vladimir Lenin in celebration of Valentine’s Day, on Monday, February 14, 2011. Sporting a sentiment not necessarily shared by all – “Fremont Loves Lenin 4 Ever!” – the decoration did attempt to bring the spirit of the season to the dead dictator. After all, what says love quite as much as a lovey-dovey yet long-dead tyrant?
