Have An Ale & Fight Alzheimer’s Disease On Oct. 8th

On Saturday, October 8th, from 4p – 8p, the Alzheimer’s Association invites all good-hearted Fremonsters (and their drinking companions) to participate in the Ales For Alzheimer’s – Fremont Edition fundraiser.  Ten Fremont pubs have agreed to participate in this effort to build awareness and reach out to those with loved ones who have been diagnosed, or died, from Alzheimer’s Diesease, or a related dementia.

The funds raised by the event will aid the Alzheimer’s Association chapter based in Seattle which serves 23 counties in western and central Washington.

Over 400 people enjoyed the Ales For Alzheimer's event on Queen Anne in March 2011 Photo provided by the Alzheimer's Association Seattle chapter

Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through research, to provide and enhance care and support for all those affected by the disease, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Registration for Ales For Alzheimer’s can be done on the U-Park lot below the Red Door between 3p and 5p.  For $40, each registrant (21+) will receive a t-shirt and one 8 oz. beer at:  White Rabbit, 9 Million in Unmarked Bills, Ballroom, Red Door, High Dive, Norm’s Eatery & Ale House, The Dubliner, LTD Bar & Grill, Nickerson Street Saloon and George & Dragon Pub.

Check out a map of the participating pubs on Google maps, or more information about the event on the Alzheimer’s Association website.  Also check out their Facebook event page.
