On Monday, November 24th, starting at 7p, at the DownStage Theatre, everyone is invited to come hear a dramatic reading of a new play, called ‘Private Conversations’ by Scott Timmons. As the latest in the Play Factory Writer’s Group Series, this reading will be followed with an organized feedback session where the audience, cast and playwright provide feedback to assist in developing the script for the stage.
In ‘Private Conversations,’ three sisters and their brother return home from their mother’s funeral only to have their father pass away the next day. As they now set out to settle the estate, the grown children reveal how they have never grown up. The older sisters conspire to get quick cash from their parent’s passing, while the youngest hunts for male companionship in the midst of the tragedy. The brother, an attorney, tries to keep things steady while a plumber and gardener add confusion to the situation.
This pay-what-you-can theater experience gives the audience an early look into the development of a new production. Come share your thoughts, and participate in building a new work. Find more information on this reading on the Facebook Event page.
