The City of Seattle is seeking volunteers to help develop a new Master Plan for the Seattle Pacific University (SPU). Community members are needed to serve on a Citizen Advisory Committee, to use their knowledge of neighborhood organizations and issues, land use and zoning, architecture, landscaping, economic development, building development and educational services working with the City and SPU on guiding future development of the school’s campus.
The Master Plan outlines the existing types and locations of physical development on the SPU campus, including new developments, and establishes guidelines for the design of future development. The Master Plan also includes a Transportation Management Plan, along with any other actions that can be taken to mitigate any negative impacts of development on the neighborhood.
The members of the Citizen Advisory Committee will meet monthly, in the evening, for approximately two years or until the Master Plan is completed. More frequent meetings may be necessary at times. If you are able to complete this commitment, and interested in being a part of this important work, please send a resume and letter describing your interest, by September 30th. The resume and letter (along with your address) must be sent to Nelson Pesigan, at nelson.pesigan@seattle.gov or to Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, P.O. Box 94649, Seattle, WA 98124-4649
