On Thursday, October 27th, from 6p – 9p, Hub And Bespoke, Fremont’s fine clothing boutique for cyclists, will host a ‘Meet The Maker’ party with local clothier, Telaio. Come find out about this Ballard manufacturer, meet the owner/designer Katharine Andrews, and learn about some new products they will be introducing at Hub And Bespoke this fall.
The wool clothing designed and fabricated at Telaio meet the needs of cyclists, including bespoke trousers, knickers and shorts – custom-fit to the purchaser’s specifications. Hub And Bespoke customers rave about the classic looks and comfort of Telaio clothes, which makes sense considering the company’s sensitivity to cyclists.
According to the Telaio website:
“Riding establishes a certain intimacy with the weather: If you rode here, you probably know which way the wind is blowing, if it’s really as cold out as it looks, whether it smells like rain or not. … It’s clothing that you put between your flexing muscles and the weather, and it is supposed to serve both.”
On October 27th, Telaio founder Katherine Andrews will answer questions about the virtues of wool, and give specifics about the ‘sequence of construction’ of her signature wool trousers. The party provides an opportunity to get better acquainted with a small-scale, local company producing thoughtful, well-made garments for people who ride.
Any purchases made at the party will also include a Telaio wool cycling cap. Light snacks and adult beverages will be served. For more information, check the Hub And Bespoke blog or stop by the store!
