On Sunday, August 19th, the U-Park lot at North 35th St & N Phinney Ave that shows movies all summer, becomes a place of enlightenment and electronics.
At 3:30p, ThingOut welcomes DIY-ers with their gizmos and inventions and robots to a showcase of ingenuity and daring. See photos and video of the creations from the 2011 ThingOut in Fremont in a Geekwire article. This year, ThingOut will also include an electronics swap meet – everyone is welcome to bring something to take apart, and find something new to put together.
At 7:30p, the lot will transition into the latest setting for Ignite Seattle – a series of quick talks on a variety of subjects – with guest host Scott Berkun. The speakers, and their topics, for Ignite Seattle 17 in no particular order are:
- Sol Villarreal, Engage Seattle (or, how I learned to stop worrying and love local government)
