Hopefully the Independence Day holiday has given you a shorter work week, and more energy for the important things in life – like ART!  Check out the Fremont First Friday Art Walk this Friday, July 7th, to see the art, meet the artists and get out strolling on a summer’s eve.

The FFF Art Walk takes place from 6p – 9p, and features a number of typically unique Fremont venues, all about the Center of the Universe, giving us opportunities to expose ourselves, and our friends, to culture presented at an accessible, community level.

This week, be sure to check out these FFF Art Walk venues:

  • Fremont Jewelry Design has lured Emiliya Lane back to the ‘hood.  This former Fremont shopkeeper has been focusing, since closing Frank & Dunya, on her art and painting ‘ala prima’ in the Russian impressionistic tradition.  A multiple award-winning artist, painting & teaching in Seattle, Lane will be showing some of her latest works, and the real joy she finds in living her art.

  • Portage Bay Goods invites us all to say a fond farewell to a long-time Fremont character as we get a (perhaps final) glimpse at the art of Shalene Lundgren, a.k.a. Beanie Marie.  A familiar face at PBG for nearly a decade, Lundgren will be setting off on a new adventure, in Anaheim, but on July 7th we can all admire her colorful fiber art creations (and buy some to remember her by,) while telling her how much she will be missed as a local artist, and a member of our community.
  • Frame-Up Studios features art by John Hunter in July.  Hunter’s unique paintings contain many expressionistic characteristics, yet his style is immediately identifiable as his own and his skill can be seen in his wonderful use of color and light.  The playfulness of his body of work suits this show well, as his paintings are displayed among the impressive collection of Fremont Street Fair posters archived by Frame-Up, along with a small selection of 2017 posters still on-sale, framed and unframed, while supplies last.
In addition to original art by John Hunter, Frame Up has a few more Fremont Fair posters for sale.

The Fremont First Friday Art Walk offers, for free, a strolling smorgasbord of culture and original art.  Check the website, or the Facebook page, to find out more about venues and artists on display on July 7th from 6p – 8p, right here in Fremont!

See you there!
