On Wednesday, April 24th at 6p, at Peddler Brewing, there will be another organizing meeting for the Ballard-Fremont Greenways – a community group aimed at building more safe ways for bicycle and pedestrian traffic through our neighborhoods.

At the meeting on April 24th, the Ballard-Fremont Greenways has a packed agenda where they will discuss Priority Projects for 2019, including improvements along the Greenway on 6th Ave NW and safety measures at 11th & Market.  They will also discuss the Bicycle Master Plan 2019 – 2024 Implementation Plan.  Finally, they will discuss joining the Seattle Neighborhood Greenways Coalition.

The meeting will also cover the topic of scheduling a regular location for these meetings, and upcoming events.  Bike Everywhere Day is on May 17th, as well as a City sponsored meeting on Tuesday, April 30th at 6p in the Phinney Neighborhood Association Center to discuss the Seattle Department of Transportation Bicycle Master Plan.

While Ballard has some Greenways, the Fremont Greenways group struggled to get organized.  In Feburary 2019, the two groups joined together and now is a great time for those in Fremont to get involved and share your ideas.  The Ballard-Fremont Greenways meetings are open to the public, with Peddler Brewing being okay for children, so this would be a great time to get involved!
