This Friday, April 4th, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk welcomes back familiar favorites as well as featuring new faces, all for your viewing pleasure at a variety of venues!
Check out Eli Wolff at Portage Bay Goods. Wolff got his start showing colorful, and culturally tethered, cartoonish drawings at Pel’Meni Dumpling Tzar. Professionally, Wolff designs video games but he spends his free-time creating art, using pop-culture influences. For April, his bright pieces will grace the walls of the equally colorful and outrageous Portage Bay, in a perfect pairing.
As for Pel’Meni, they’ve invited another iconographic artist – Dave Ryan – and his hand-painted pop art works done on recycled LPs, second-hand canvases and wood. A graduate of Western Washington University, Ryan began stenciling as a form of physical therapy following a diving accident in 2008. Come see his eco-friendly, and economical, paintings – and, while there, get $1 off dumplings by using the phrase ‘make art, not war.’
At Frame-Up Studios once again enjoy the paintings of Patrick Joy. His works immediately captivate the viewer with their color and vitality. Frame-Up prides itself on featuring high-quality artists alongside its high-quality custom framing. Check out both this Friday.
The Fremont First Friday Art Walk always offers plenty more to see and enjoy – and in April, the walk is also much more pleasant than it has been in months as spring comes along. Look at the FFF website for more venues to explore, as you discover the art!
