King County Celebrates Juneteenth, And The End Of Slavery

This week, the Metropolitan King County Council issued a proclamation in support of the Seattle Central Area Chamber of Commerce for recognition of Juneteenth, and African-American Independence Day.  Juneteenth celebrates the day people in Texas were told that, as part of the United States of America, African-Americans were free and slavery was abolished.

Celebrate Juneteenth, King County!!

As the third Sunday in June, the 19th of 2016 is the day we celebrate Fathers, but while at the Fremont Fair and honoring Dads, we can also take time to honor those who suffered under slavery and celebrate freedom for all!
