Many of us are finding ourselves with too much time on our hands, and in need of ways to distract from the distress and lack-of-control we feel during the ‘Stay Home, Stay Healthy,’ directive. King County has now launched a way, quickly and easily, to find ways to help with the COVID-19 response efforts, for those looking to volunteer.
Sponsored by King County Councilmember Regan Dunn, Project C.A.R.E. (COVID-19 Action and Response Enlistment) is a comprehensive website, at www.kingcounty.gov/CARE, to list opportunities for us to give back to our community. The website will connect volunteers with organizations where their help is most needed, now.
“So many people have been looking for ways to support their community as we wall navigate the impacts of COVID-19. That generosity is what first inspired me to create a one-stop shop to connect folks with opportunities to give back,” Dunn said. “In this time of crisis, my hope is that Project C.A.R.E. will unite our region and help us look out for each other.”
To help volunteers understand the Project C.A.R.E. opportunities, Councilmember Dunn also released a series of videos (click here) to highlight how we can help with blood donations, food support and healthcare services. Check out the website (click here,) and share this resource with anyone you know who might want to help.
