King County To Perform Maintenance Work On The Fremont Siphon

Map of work planned by King County on the Fremont Siphon, starting July 18th, 2011

Beginning the week of July 18th, as part of the Fremont Siphon Sewer Project, crews from King County will do maintenance work on the both the Queen Anne and Fremont access points.  In Fremont, intermittent work will occur near 2nd Avenue NW and NW Canal Street, with heavy equipment, noise, dust and odor expected.

Work hours are scheduled from 7a – 7p, with the equipment to remain in place overnight and active work areas fenced off for safety.  However, this work is not expected to impact 2nd Avenue NW, NW Canal Street or use of the Burke-Gilman Trail.

On the south side of the canal, active maintenance work will be done in the West Ewing Mini Park north of 3rd Ave W and W Ewing St.
