This weekend, see the Sloth Bears – Randy and Tasha – at the Woodland Park Zoo for the last time until the completion of construction on their new exhibit space, scheduled for 2014.  To say good-bye to the bears, who will move into an off-view area for the duration, stop by the Zoo on September 15th -16th between 9:30a – 6p.  Entrance fees will apply.

Phase one construction of the Zoo’s all-new, 2-acre Otter, Tiger & Sloth Bear exhibit complex is about to begin.  This multi-species complex will feature the Asian small-clawed otters and a kids’ play area, scheduled to open in 2013.  The state-of-the-art homes for the Tigers and Sloth Bears will be part of the second and final phase.

While funding has been raised to complete phase one, the Woodland Park Zoo still needs donors to help with the funds for phase two.  Visit the Woodland Park Zoo website for more information on why donations are needed, and how you can help.

And if in doubt about the need – go visit Tasha and Randy one last time this weekend!
