On Tuesday, December 6th from 1p – 5p, at West of Lenin, artists can learn more about how to get quality photos of their art works from local photographer Michelle Bates. This thorough introduction will give all the information necessary for documenting and sharing images of all kinds of art.
This afternoon workshop will give those with a camera and a need to capture their sculpture, painting, and other forms of 2D and 3D visual art an education in the terminology and the proper settings for displaying pieces. Learn about pixels, resolution and file sizes, as well as lens, lights, backgrounds and getting everything to look right. Bates can help with instruction on types of cameras, shooting, color balance, software, preparation and file management. She can also advise on when and how to work with professional photographers.
Reserve a spot now at this limited-space workshop through Brown Paper Tickets. Bates has been photographing art, performance and people since 1991. Bates has also worked as an educator and author, and has developed this course with Artist Trust.
Whether looking for images for submissions, a website, reproduction, sales or archiving, come join Michelle Bates at West of Lenin for an afternoon of education on capturing your art.
