The COVID crisis has hit everyone, but it has been particularly devastating for those in poverty who rely on services that have suddenly become unavailable. One of these vital resources has long been Literary Source, the educational center formerly in Fremont and now located in Lake City.
Literacy Source wants to let those who need help with English skills – reading, writing, GED Preparation, Citizenship, Computer Skills or just needing enough literacy to get a job – know that their services are still available. Any adults interested in classes and/or tutoring in English As A Second Language, and improving their trajectory out of the working poor, can find the help they need, for free, through Literacy Source.
Day and evening classes are available, by Zoom, WhatsApp, and Phone, through the Winter Term which starts on January 11th. Employment coaching is available, along with assistance with citizenship, and computer literacy. Anyone can find assistance, with their English skills and finding a job, even during this difficult time.
Find out more about Literacy Source on the website (click here,) and through the Seattle Ready-To-Work program webpage (click here.) Please pass along this information to anyone you know who needs some help, during COVID or even after the pandemic is over and things get easier for everyone, except maybe those still struggling just to survive.
