On Wednesday, August 16th, at 8p at The Substation, ESSO Afrojam Funkbeat will be performing live their funky Afro-Latin and roots rock inspired dance music. ¡ESSO! stands for El Sonido Sonic Octopus, an ethnically diverse crew of musicians that combine twang guitar, thumping bass, the strength of brass horns, group singing and urban poetry in an eclectic mix of raw, energetic sound.
Inspired by Chicago’s soulful blues, jazzy house and global fusion heavyweights, ¡ESSO! delivers a purposeful performance, unifying listeners through music, dance and a collaborative energy.
Expect a unique, powerful show with Armando Perez (guitar/vocals,) Kevin Miller (saxophone,) Dan Lieber (drums/percussion,) Ezra Lange (bass,) Diana Mosquera and Luis Tubens (vocals,) Puerko Pitzotl and Jess Anzaldua (percussions,) and Matthew Davis (trombone.) Also enjoy special guests as they appear at this singular show. Find ticket information, and more about the show, on the BandsInTown.com website.
The Substation is a 21+ only venue.
