You don’t have to sit at home mid-week, waiting for the weekend to start. Nectar Lounge has plenty of interesting, engaging and entertaining music to share, most especially this week!
On Wednesday, July 16th, the Second Annual Northwest String Summit will kick-off at Nectar with three exciting bands performing, and a ticket giveaway to the three-day festival. On Thursday, July 17th, the musical culture of Brazil (and South America) comes to Fremont with live music by acclaimed world-wide musical performers.
First, enjoy the music of four-piece band Grant Farm from Colorado, the six-piece bluegrass ensemble The Lil’ Smokies from Missoula, Montana, and the family folk of Gipsy Moon from Nederland, all on July 16th, and win a three-day pass to Strummit ’14. Tickets for this kick-off party cost $8 in advance (which also comes with an additional entry in the drawing for the 3-day pass,) or $10 at the door, which opens at 8p. Then, on Thursday, Matuto will bring Brazilian musical roots to bear on American bluegrass, with support from the exuberant songs and dance of Eduardo Mendonça & Show Brazil. Enjoy also The Cumbieros, a Seattle-based multi-national band made of talented musicians from Brazil, Chile and North America.
