On Saturday, June 18th, from 6a – 3p, the Seattle Rock-N-Roll Marathon returns to Seattle Center and CenturyLink Field. This ½ Marathon and 8K wanders central and south Seattle – and will likely wreak havoc on Fremont traffic as well.
On Saturday, June 18th, the Fremont Fair & the Fremont Arts Council Solstice Parade will return to the Center of the Universe – and those attempting to come and go to our celebrations can expect to find their ways, by transit or traffic, impeded.
The Seattle Rock-N-Roll will start on Broad Street, at Seattle Center, and finish on Occidental Avenue at CenturyLink, and its potential 18,000 runners (plus spectators/family/friends) will need to come and go from these sites.
Most road closures and detours will be in effect from 6a to 3p. First thing in the morning, police and event personnel may implement a soft closure along the entire race course. After the race starts the streets will reopen on a rolling basis as soon as the last participant has passed and all course support materials have been removed.
Please check the Seattle Rock-N-Roll website for more information, and for an app that would help travelers avoid the worst traffic that morning.
Make sure you plan well for getting to the Fremont Fair, the Solstice Parade and all the celebrations here on June 18th!
