On Saturday, October 20th, registration opens at 7:30a for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Gas Works Park.  This American Cancer Society event will unite communities behind efforts to save lives from breast cancer.

To protect the Making Strides walkers, roads around Gas Works Park will be closed starting at 7:30a – specifically Northlake Way between Woodlawn and Phinney, and N Canal St between Phinney and 1st Ave.

The official Making Strides three-mile walk will start at 9a, and is rain or shine.  For easy check-in on the day of the walk, on-line sign-up is recommended (click here.)  All participants, including children, need to be registered.

This community-building event will raise funds, and fun, for breast cancer survivors and their friends and family.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is not a race.  There will be water stations along the route, as well as at the finish line.  Participants do not need to complete the entire route if unable.  All breast cancer survivors are encouraged to visit the Survivor VIP Experience Tent to receive a shirt, sash and special surprises.  Please check in to let everyone know who is taking place – you are hope!

Bring children, and the canines!  Bark for Breast Cancer at this dog-friendly event.  Project Canine will have a tent, filled with therapy dogs, and goodies for the visiting doggies!  After the Making Strides walk, enjoy the Best Dressed Dog Competition – furry friends can be dressed in their finest, imaginative fashion (not just pink,) for judging.  Pups must be pre-entered to be eligible – find details on the Making Strides website (click here.)
