Mark The Dates: Fremont Festivus Brings Fun To Holiday Shopping

The first weekend in December is now Fremont Festivus, and plenty of fun and free activities are being planned for the enjoyment of local families – and everyone looking for ways to enjoy the holiday season in festive (and fabulously funky) ways!

Check the Festivus website for details about all the entertainments. So far scheduled are:

On Dec 2^nd – Lenin Lighting at 5p in Red Triangle with live music by Project RFK, Fremont’s Santa, beverages & snacks, traditional Fremont Festivus activities, and giveaways, ending with lighting of an 8-ton bronze sculpture of a dead dictator to launch the Fremont holiday shopping season. Merry Christmas!
On Dec 2^nd – Free Hatha Yoga Flow class at Noon at Anytime Fitness in Fremont. Sign-up in the office. Yoga mats provided.

On Dec 2^nd – Fremont First Friday Art Walk from 6p – 9p see art, and meet the artists, at Portage Bay Goods, Art F/X, Fremont Jewelry Design, Frame-Up Studios, Ancient Arts Holistic Veterinary, and Outsider Comics & Geek Boutique Find more details at FremontFirstFriday.com
On Dec 3^rd – from 11a – 2p Red Door welcomes Santa, and all his friends, for photos with Rowland Photography
On Dec 3^rd – Ancient Arts from 2p – 6p will host a multi-media art show of handicrafts by Darla Rewers including soaps, pottery, jewelry and art. They will also have on display original photography by Brent Osborne, and be selling gift certificates for holistic exams and acupuncture for family pets.

On Dec 3^rd – Fremont Art Re-Installation at 5p near the Fremont Rocket. Come celebrate the restoration of a long-lost Fremont art work – and its creator – with caroling, beverages & snacks, special guests, Best of Fremont ballots, give-aways and other surprises. Sponsored by HomeStreet Bank.

On Dec 3^rd – Artist’s Reception at 6p at Red Door with no-host bar and lots of convivial community sharing
On Dec 4^th – Fremont Holiday Market from 10a – 4p offers great, creative, and unique gift ideas and bargains at dozens upon dozens of small, independent crafters and vendors.
On Dec 4^th – Free Hatha Flow class at 11a at Anytime Fitness. Sign-up in the main office. Yoga mats provided.
