Masonic Lodge and the Fremont Library Launch Annual ‘Bike for Books’ Reading Program

Fremont Library In August 2009
The Fremont Branch of Seattle Public Libraries, in August 2009

Starting Saturday, October 16 through Thursday, December 16, grade school aged children can win a chance at a new bike, with helmet and lock, for every three books they read and register at Seattle Public Libraries.  Masonic Doric Lodge #92, in Fremont, will once again sponsor their annual ‘Books for Bikes’ program, aimed at inspiring children to read.

The drawing for four bikes will be held Saturday, December 18, at 1 p.m. at the Fremont branch of the Seattle Public Library (731 N 35th).  Winners must be present to win.  All children, in first through fifth grades, can enter their names for the drawing once they have completed reading three books, and given a short oral book report to a librarian.  More than one entry will be allowed and all participants will receive certificates of accomplishment.
