During his mayoral campaign in 2013, Ed Murray promised to host a ‘Neighborhood Summit’ to bring together people from all parts of Seattle to share, support and inspire each other, and to connect with our city.
On Saturday, April 5th, Mayor Murray will fulfill his promise with the “2014 Neighborhood Summit’ from 9a – 1p in the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. The Summit will feature:
- Diane Douglas from CityClub, discussing the recently released Seattle Civic Health Index report, and key areas for improvement in the overall health of our city.
- Information about how we organize as a community and as a city, with information on changes coming in district elections, community organization and government.
- Give input on infrastructure & transportation issues, particularly as the Mayor seeks a new Director for the Seattle Department of Transportation.
- Learn about curbside consulting, and access city resources in real time.
- Break-out sessions for peer networking.
- Meet City Department representatives.
- Find out how to ‘Get Social’ and use modern technology to connect with our city.
Engaging residents to determine community values and priorities is a continuing process, and the Seattle Neighborhood Summit is the first step. Mayor Murray invites you to join him, take a seat at the table, and take part in the conversation. Want to volunteer at the Summit? Find out more through email or a call to 206/684-8069. Fill out an online survey to tell the Office of the Mayor more about what you would like to get out of the Seattle Neighborhood Summit, and what is important to your neighborhood. To learn more about the Seattle Neighborhood Summit, email SNS2014@seattle.gov or call 206/684-8069.
