On Saturday, March 29th, at 3p, at History House, Fremont mover-and-shaker, Barb Luecke, will talk on aspects of the Fremont Public Art collection. As another installment in the Fremocentrist.com Fremont Fireside Chat series (sponsored by HomeStreet Bank,) this one-hour, free presentation, will give insights on Fremont’s vast public art collection by an experienced art advocate.
Luecke has facilitated an incredible number of art installations through her professional work previously at 4Culture and now at Sound Transit. In her spare time, she serves on the Fremont Arts Council Board of Directors, and co-founded the Solstice Parade. When the Arts Council proposed placing art in an unused, trash-magnet space under the Aurora Bridge, Luecke facilitated the grant and public process that brought Fremont its Troll.
On March 29th, hear what she knows about the public art of Fremont, and the collection in context of public art region wide. This presentation is free, open-to-the-public and welcomes audience members of all ages. After the discussion, including a question-and-answer period on all things Fremont, enjoy a cookie-and-juice reception in the community meeting space of History House.
Come learn more about public art, one of the largest neighborhood collections in the world, and our community! Other information can be obtained on the Fremont Fireside Chat series through Brown Paper Tickets and the Facebook event page.
