On February 22nd, at 7p at Doric Lodge #92, the Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) will hold its monthly public meeting. Fremont residents are encouraged to attend, hear the updates about our neighborhood and voice their own concerns.
For February, the FNC has new King County Councilwoman (and former State Senator) Jeanne Kohl-Welles in attendance. Kohl-Welles now represents to the King County a district that includes Fremont, and she needs to hear our concerns. She will also be sharing her priorities for 2016.
The FNC has also invited representatives from the Woodland Park Zoo, who will share information about redevelopment of three-acres within their property for new exhibits. Before they begin planning, however, they are embarking on a public process to gather input from neighbors about what they want to see in the space.
Finally, the FNC will hear an update on the King County Wastewater Fremont Siphon Replacement Project. Construction on this massive project to replace the sewer tunnel under the Lake Union Ship Canal began in 2015. Hear how it is going, and what is still to come in 2016.
Beyond this, Fremont residents can hear more on HALA propsals, and next steps being taken, and the upcoming Neighborhood Expo 2016 on April 6th. For those residents not already members of the FNC, this meeting is also a good place to find out about how inexpensive and easy it is to join.
Find out more about the FNC through the website, and the FNC Facebook page, or by attending this meeting on Monday, February 22nd at 7p at Doric Lodge #92.
