METRO Scales Back Proposed Route Changes

For September 2012, METRO has proposed a number of significant changes to bus routes around Seattle.  Last week, Fremocentrist.com received a heads-up notice from Eugene Wasserman, of the North Seattle Industrial Association, that some of the most dramatic changes originally proposed have been revised.

In its latest draft proposal, METRO restored local service for routes #26 & #28.  The website listing the proposed changes has also removed a plan to send route #5 through Downtown Fremont.  Under the current proposal, #5 will continue to run on the Aurora Bridge, with a review planned after installation of RapidRide Route E along Aurora Avenue scheduled for 2013.

See current proposed changes on the METRO website, and attend one of the public meetings scheduled for input from riders, and all citizens, on proposed changes.  The first meeting will be the one held closest to Fremont, at Ballard High School, on Monday, February 13th, from 6p – 8p.
