More Of Fremont Opens, With Businesses Ready to Serve!!

Show Pony has an open door, but also allows appointments for those who want to shop alone! Photo by Adrian Laney, Jun ’20

In the week since King County ‘Safe Open’ moved to Phase 1.5, more Fremont businesses have opened.  Efforts to keep customers and staff as safe as possible, while providing service, have led many businesses to get creative with their hours, openings, and services available to customers.  If you have any questions about your favorite Fremont business, just call them and ask!

In the last week, Fremont has been thrilled to see open:

Frame Up Studios are open now for your framing, printing and art services. Photo provided by Frame Up

While Verve Bowls has left the neighborhood, we’ve now got a new ice cream shop (in with Just Poké) called The Big Chill.  This shop is so new that it doesn’t yet have an operational website – so you’ll need to stop by and see what they have.

Show Pony has also opened their shop, for walk-ins, but also offering appointments for those who need to shop in private, without others around.  Show Pony hours are Tues – Sun from Noon – 6p, with appointments available Tues – Sun at 10a, 11a, or 6p.  Contact showpony@showponyboutique.com to make an appointment.

Frame-Up Studios has also re-opened, for customers to drop off framing and printing projects – or pick-up finished items.  Right now, Frame-Up has special, limited hours of Wednesday – Sunday, 11a – 5p.

Le Coin, in Upper Fremont, still hasn’t opened for diners, but they are still offering delicious, gourmet meals available through Tock (click here.)  In addition to amazing brunches and the Sunday Night Fried Chicken dinner, this modern French-American restaurant wants to remind everyone that Father’s Day is coming up, on June 21st, and they have Take Home Meal Kits available for $160.  Find out more on the Le Coin website.

Rudy’s Barbershop is still not open (although we still hope the ‘new’ owners will get our shop back up and running soon.  Read about their struggles in an article from The Seattle Times on May 23, 2020.)  Still, for those looking for a barbershop, Smitty’s in Ballard is available for appointments.  Just call 206/789-5729 for a time, even on the same day, Tue – Fri from 9:30a to 6p, and Sat from 10a – 4p.

It’s a great time to visit Fremont!  Our sidewalks are nearly empty and our stores are very welcoming, and doing everything to keep everyone safe.  Eating out at a restaurant is a very special treat now, and Fremont has some of the best, and while here, check out the window displays and gifts for Dad, available at our shops and boutiques because Fremont is Open!!
