This week, for Summer Solstice Art Week, artists will be painting murals – some temporary and some permanent.
The Fremont Arts Council has organized four murals to be painted:
- At Woodsky’s (303 N 36th St) Art Car Goddess and local arts promoter Kelly Lyles is creating a temporary mural to be installed on the wooden wall of the patio, begun in her West Seattle studio and painted live on Saturday.
- At Katrina Eileen Real Estate (123 N 35th St) Odette Allen will be painting a permanent mural live over the Art Week, on the canal side of the building.
- On the former Clear Cut Plastics building, at 507 N 36th, Myron Curry will be painting, live, a mural on top of the existing COVID mural.
- At Outlander Brewery & Pub, at 225 N 36th St, Vincent Keele will be painting a temporary mural, done in part on-site, for the fence of the beer garden behind Outlander – and accessible by the alley behind
For Summer Solstice Art Week, and the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, Molly Keane will be painting a mural on the side of the Cascade Bicycle Studio at 180 N Canal St – facing the Theo Chocolate factory and near the Dino Topiaries. On Saturday & Sunday, during the Seattle Art Car Tailgate, the Peninsula Parking Lot Extravaganza and the Fremont Sunday Market, everyone is invited to come take selfies with this new mural!
