For everyone desperate for entertainment, and those looking for a way to support our local music scene, Nectar Lounge has announced the streaming of the first of its Virtual Concert Series. On Saturday, March 21st, from 8p – 10p, viewers can Pay-What-You-Will to see Cytrus perform on YouTube.
On March 21st, hear Cytrus, an eight-piece funk-driven fusion band, offering a psychedelic pallet of funk, disco, electronic, rock, neo-soul, and hip-hop. The Seattle-based band, consisting of Jared Squires (guitar,) Jeran Plumacher (drums,) Luke Nevills (bass/keys,) Brandon Hailey (saxophone,) Owen Mayo (guitar/keys,) Trevor Church (drums,) Alex Dean (synth/keys,) and Sean Connelly (vocals/keys,) is personalized by its juicy synths, bass-induced grooves, and cinematic live performances – being captured in this Virtual Concert.
“It was with a heavy heart that we had to cancel our shows,” wrote Andy Palmer, on behalf of the Nectar Team, “and while we’ll be missing live concerts… we, of course, agree that it’s most important to prioritize the health and safety of our community first and foremost.”
To that end, Nectar has produced this inaugural Virtual Concert, as a fundraiser for the band, Cytrus, the out-of-work Nectar staff, and to help keep Nectar Lounge operational for the duration of the COVID-19 lockdown. This will cost a suggested donation of $10, payable via PayPal (click here), with all contributions will be greatly appreciated.
The Nectar YouTube Channel (click here,) will have no videos on it in advance of March 21st, because this Virtual Concert will be the first of the series. The Nectar Team plans to produce more, unless the ban on gatherings is lifted soon!
Hope you hear it soon!
