The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture is seeking artists to develop temporary art for a fence for the 2017 Poetry Garden Art Series on the campus of Seattle Center.  The theme for the art is ‘Seattle Center Festál Turns 20.’  The budget for this art work is $1,000 – for design, fabrication and installation.

Four artists will be selected, for art to be displayed for three-months in 2017.  This call for artists is open to all professionals, over 18 years of age, residing in the U.S. and interested in working collaboratively in a public setting.  This call also is for those professional artists who have never received a permanently sited public or private art commission of more than $10,000.

The small-scale, temporary art will be installed on a ‘poetry garden’ fence, and can be made with printed vinyl, wood, canvas, etc.  Artists are encouraged to be creative with materials, although the art should not be designed to intentionally deteriorate over time and must be able to be secured in a way that prevents theft or vandalism.

Applications for this Call To Artists are due by 11p, Monday, October 24thApplications can be made on the Seattle CaFÉ website, although questions can be directed to Elisheba Johnson at 206/684-0182 or Elisheba.johnson@seattle.gov
