The City of Seattle has announced that a new recreational space is now open for public use.  The construction on the newly rebuilt North Transfer Station has nearly completed, and the adjacent open space on Woodlawn as well as a recreational area at Carr Place built in conjunction have completed.

Meanwhile, final adjustments and remaining warranty work are being completed on the Transfer Station, along with training staff on the new equipment.  Functionality of the new facility is also being tested to ensure the equipment and systems are working correctly and efficiently.  The Station is expected to open at the end of November, with an open house tentatively planned for early December.

The public space at Carr Place and N 35th Street is available for use, however Seattle Public Utilities crews will be returning in the future to adjust the grade of the pathways for enhancing safety.
