Swingside Cafe opens for lunch, for the month of November 2011. Photo by K. Lindsay, 2010

A short scan of developments at three established Fremont businesses that prove change can be very, very good!

At Solsticio café, coffee bar and smoothie spot at the foot of Stone Way, has recently shifted to stocking Macrina Bakery.  Yum!  Check out the selection of cookies, muffins and scones as a snack with your favorite Solsticio latte, or smoothie!

At e.t.g., Fremont’s first coffee shop and possibly smallest storefront, check out the new e.t.g. line of roasted coffee.  Owner Lorilyn Mason has a certificate as proof of her new status as a coffee roaster, along with her official-ish burlap coffee-sack vest.  Stop by to take a look, and a sip!

Swingside Café, one of Fremont’s few fine dining establishments, will open for lunch in the month of November.  Owner Brad Inserra will serve delicious Italian meals from 11a – 2p at the landmark restaurant in Upper Fremont.  While normally only open for dinners, this fall Swingside will offer discerning diners – and their budget conscious friends – a chance to partake of the amazing food during daytime hours, for a limited time only!

Shopping local helps the environment, the economy and the community – but isn’t it wonderful when it tastes very, very good too?  Enjoy!
