On Saturday, June 21st, the Fremont Arts Council will host a Solstice Celebration at Gas Works Park following the Solstice Parade.  A kids’ STEAM activity area, sponsored by Google, will offer free educational games and entertaining opportunities for all ages, from 5p – 9p!

At the ‘Here Comes The Sun’ solar area, charge your phone with Northwest Solar Rover, create art using color & sunlight, build a kinetic mobile and test your wit with the Solar Survival Challenge.  STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) disciplines will be highlighted throughout the projects and activities offered in this exciting new area of the Solstice Celebration.

In the Kids’ Solar Survival Challenge, kids and adults can collaborate to engineer a structure using provided materials to cook something, shelter someone and/or collect/purify water.

Come check out the offerings, at the Here Comes The Sun area, and all over Gas Works Park as HONK! Fest West provides high-energy music to dance through the end of the longest day of the year, all at Gas Works Park!
