On Monday, April 28th, starting at 7p, at Doric Lodge #92, the Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) will hold its annual general meeting, with elections of the Board of Directors. The group, which advocates on behalf of the residents of Fremont, also invites a special speaker to this meeting. This year, Seattle City Councilmember Nick Licata will speak, and answer questions from all attendees.
Councilmember Licata has served since 1988, and currently sits as chairperson of the Finance & Culture Committee, and vice-chair of the public safety, civil rights, and technology committee. Licata has also championed the cause of pedestrian safety: he helped establish the Pedestrian Master Plan, and Critical Crossings – an on-line tool for residents to document problem intersections.
For the last year, the FNC has been addressing problem intersections in Fremont for pedestrians. Come hear what Licata has to say about tools and potentials for solving these problems.
Following his keynote address, the FNC may present information on standing committees of the Board as well as providing a time for neighbor networking. This meeting is open-to-the-public (although, only FNC members will be allowed to vote for the Board,) and everyone interested in the work of the FNC, or the interests of Fremont residents, is encouraged and invited to attend!
