For those Fremonsters who have trash pick-up on Fridays, this week will be same old, same old.  Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) has announced normal collections for July 4th, the Independence Day holiday.  This means all regularly scheduled collections of garbage, yard waste and recycling materials will be done.  Customers should make sure their containers are placed out by 7a to ensure pick-up.

Also, the City of Seattle South Transfer Station (Dump) will be open on July 4th.  During the extended closure of the North Transfer Station for rebuild, the South Transfer Station is open extended hours (from 8a – 8p) seven days a week.  Find the address, and traffic cams, on the SPU website.  Seattle Public Utilities will also pick-up bulky items including furniture, mattresses, appliances, etc.  For $30 ($38 for those items containing CFCs, like refrigerators,) have those items collected from the curb.  Call 206/684-3000 to arrange a bulky item collection.
