On Friday, November 2nd, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont Art Walk will welcome visitors to come explore 15 locations, several of which will be celebrating the Day of the Dead in addition to the art and artists of Art Walk.
The shops on N 35th Street – Burnt Sugar, Liten, Essenza and Portage Bay Goods, centered at El Camino restaurant – will be marking Dia de Los Muertos, with discounts and decorations leading up to the Art Walk this month.
Be sure to check them out while visiting:
- Frame-Up Studio – Timothy Barney will be displaying a show, called “Upgrade”, of his glowing photos, throughout November at Fremont’s oldest retail shop. This visionary photographer will be sharing this new body of his eye-catching images of ordinary objects, using color and light to bring them to life.
- Portage Bay Goods – Susan Elliott will be showing her whimsical ‘Dia de los Muertos’ portraits, celebrating life, death and (of course) art!
- Friday Afternoon Tea – Stop by this Stone Way shop to see works by artist Chrys Chabot, while sampling some of the amazing blending they’ve got for sale.
- Down Under Gallery – In addition to showing photos by Adrian Laney, the gallery will be collecting non-perishable food donations to FamilyWorks food bank. The show, ‘Scenes From The Sidewalk’, will be closing in the next week, so come see these international sights while you can.
While strolling the Art Walk, also check out the displays at Pel’Meni Dumpling Tzar, Fremont SPACE, Saturn Building, Outsider Comics & Geek Boutique, Oohla’s Salon & Gallery, Art F/X, Johnston Architects, Olympic Jewelry, Blue House & Yellow Dog Studio, Uncommon Cottage, and Sfingiday.
