On Monday, July 27th, starting at 7p, the Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) will hear reports from the Seattle Department of Transportation and State Representative for District #43, in addition to sharing news about our community. Attend this public meeting, held at Doric Temple #92, and learn more about this resident’s advocacy organization.
According to the published agenda, State Representative Brady Walkinshaw will attend the FNC meeting to share an overview of the past legislative session, and his plans, so far, for the future. Attendees will have a chance to ask questions and give input on state issues, and what you want Rep Walkinshaw to know before the next session begins.
Following that, Howard Wu from the City Transportation Department will be on-hand to share specific details about plans for expanding the bike lanes along N 34th Street from Evanston Avenue to Phinney Avenue. Much mis-information and confusion has surrounded this plan. Details can be found on-line but questions and concerns would be best addressed by attending the FNC meeting on July 27th.
The meeting will also give time for reports from standing FNC committees – including Land Use, Zoo, Public Safety, etc. – as well as general neighbor concerns. Learn more about the mission of the FNC, and how to join, through the organization’s website, or Facebook page. Any specific concerns can be addressed to fremont.neighborhood.council@gmail.com or at the monthly meetings.
