The Doric Lodge #92 – Fremont’s own Masonic Temple – encourages all elementary school children to get reading, and enter the ‘Bikes For Books’ program hosted by the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library.  Deadline to enter to win a bike looms ever closer – children must submit their entry by Friday, December 16th!

A celebration, and drawing of the prizes, will be held at 1p on Saturday, December 17th at the Fremont Branch.

For every five books read by a child in either first through third, or fourth and fifth grades reads, they can enter to win either a girls’ or boys’ bike, with helmet and lock.  Four bikes will be given out on December 17th, and participants must be present to win.  Every child that participates will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment.

Children can enter the drawing at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library, submitting the names of books they’ve read – and able to give a very brief description of the book to a librarian.  Read about the 2010 drawing on Fremocentrist.com  For more information about the 2011 program, call the Fremont Branch at 206/684-4084.
