In the month of March, Literacy Source is raising money to purchase books for its learning adult readers – books that interest an adult but can be read by a beginning reader. Donations are being sought to help buy the books for the Student Book Fund.
Donors that give more than $25 this month will be entered in a drawing to win a personalized list of book recommendations by long-time Literacy Source supporter, NPR commentator and Librarian of the Year Nancy Pearl. On April 1st (no joke!) two people will be randomly selected from among donors that give over the last month. The winners will provide Pearl with a short list of their favorite books and she will give them a list of five recommended reads, personalized to their tastes.
Donors will also have the pleasure of knowing that their generous financial support has helped buy books for the student book club at Literacy Source, curriculum resources for the volunteer tutors and instructors, audio books, and workbooks for students and tutor pairs.
Please consider donating today, and helping spread the word about ‘The Great Nancy Pearl Booklist Contest. Read more about this campaign, including how to donate, on the Literacy Source website, or on their Facebook page.
