This is the final weekend for audiences to enjoy high-quality, ambitious theater produced in Fremont by Book-It Repertory Theatre. Directed by Josh Aaseng, ‘Jesus’ Son’ by Denis Johnson has been adapted by Jeff Schwager and brought to the West of Lenin stage for a fantastic run.
Hailed as one of the best American books of the 20th century, ‘Jesus’ Son’ chronicles the journey of an addict, in prose raw and poetic. The intimate production humanizes the experiences that define ‘rock-bottom’, and shows rough steps taken towards tentative redemption.
Purchase tickets for the last few opportunities to see this creative and unique production on the Book-It website.
Also coming up at West of Lenin, irreverent theater and storytelling for the holidays. On December 16th, at 7:30p, enjoy Christmas B-Sides & Rarities – from the darker, blues-ier side of Yuletide. Celebrate the season with an occasionally cynical, often funny and decidedly musical variety show as the perfect antidote to the overly cheery, relentlessly commercialized Christmas fare.
