This weekend officially launches the Solstice Parade season, with plenty of ways to plug into the parade and participate in the merriment and magic of the 2012 Solstice. The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) legendary celebration may be fun to watch, but participating intensifies the experience – and makes for memories among friends or families that last a lifetime.
This Thursday, May 17th, from 7p – 9p at Doric Lodge #92, the FAC will host an Artist’s Reception for the recipients of the Dave McKay grant. Come meet some of the artists working on the Solstice Parade, and learn more about what will go into creating this great work of performance art. On Saturday, May 19th, from Noon – 4p, the workshop season at the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N) official kicks into gear. Stop by and lend a hand – or just look around and be inspired. Another great way to find an ensemble to join…or adopt a float base (only a few left) to build your own!
