Opportunity To Write, And Learn To Write Better, At Fremont Branch Library

The Seattle Public Library offers a wonderful selection of free events and classes all year long.  This year, partnered with Hugo House, three branch libraries, including our Fremont Branch, are offering a monthly writing circle, open to all skill levels and genres.

On Tuesday, July 16th from 6p – 7:30p, led by author Alma Garcia, at the Fremont Branch Library, take part in this writing group with exercises, motivations, and connecting with other writers from this area.  No reservations are required, but seating is limited so arrive early for the best spot.

In addition to the Writing Circle at the Fremont Library, Seattle Public also offers:

  • PoetsWest, July 13th from 4p – 5:30p, at the Green Lake Branch – featuring readers Jimmy Jazz and Michael Klam
  • Writers Read, July 14th from 2p – 4p at the Columbia Branch – an open mic of selected author readings, presented in partnership with the African-American Writer’s Alliance
  • Writing Circle at the Columbia Branch, July 15th from 6p – 7:30p – another drop-in writing group, hosted by Hugo House author Brett Hamil
  • Poetry Potluck, July 25th from 6:30p – 7:45p, at the Ballard Branch – an informal gathering for listening to and sharing poetry; a veritable (but not literal) feast of poetry!

The Seattle Public Library System believes that the power of knowledge improves people’s lives.  SPL programs promote literacy and a love of reading, to bring people, information and ideas together to enrich lives and build community.
