On Saturday, December 17th, at 7:30p, Orchestra Seattle and Seattle Chamber Singers present a seasonal favorite and musical masterpiece – George Frideric Händel’s Messiah.
No other work has become more associated with solemn seasonal celebrations, and with Orchestra Seattle and Seattle Chamber Singers. This celebrated oratorio, Messiah, have delighted OSSCS audiences for four decades. This season, enjoy two complete and uncut performances – in Fremont at the First Free Methodist Church, and in Everett at the First Presbyterian Church.
At the Fremont performance, get an extra special treat: before the performance, at 6:30p, Lorelette Knowles will explore who and what inspired Händel to create the Messiah. In a half-hour ‘Behind the Music’, get an overview of the music, historical and cultural context for the work, and suggestions for what to listen for during the performance.
