Your wait is over! The Fremont Outdoor Cinema starts this Saturday, July 13th, at dusk, with a screening of the always-enlightening, achingly-awesome ‘Dumb And Dumber.’ Come banish brain cells and celebrate stupidity with this brilliant 1994 film, starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.
The directorial debut of the Farrelly brothers (Peter and Bobby – also responsible for ‘Shallow Hal’, ‘Me, Myself and Irene’, Kingpin, and ‘There’s Something About Mary’,) ‘Dumb And Dumber’ turns buddy-road-trip movies on their ears as two of the sweetest dummies set out to return a suitcase of money to its pretty owner. Peter Stack, of the San Francisco Chronicle, called this movie “riotous”, “rib-splitting”, and praised it for being a crude, slapstick comedy, and smart, at the same time. Readers of Total Film magazine voted Dumb And Dumber the 5th greatest comedy film of all time. A sequel – potentially titled ‘Dumb And Dumber To’ – is due to hit theaters in 2014.
Pre-purchase tickets ($5) for Outdoor Movies through Eventbrite, and avoid the lines. All screenings are B.Y.O.C. (Bring Your Own Chair,) with food trucks on-hand to allow for buying dinner in. For more information, visit the Fremont Outdoor Movies website or Facebook page.
