On Friday, December 8th, at 8p, The Panel Jumper Live returns to West Of Lenin for another evening of comic book-themed cabaret, with Chapter V. The live performances celebrate the magic of comic books, with a short play, original music, burlesque performance, special guests and history on the development of the sequential storytelling medium.
A web series about comic book history and lore, The Panel Jumper details meticulously researched stories told in a humorous, documentary style. Written by Cole Hornaday and Ben Laurance, the series often features special guests and industry stars – and always entertains.
This live presentation of The Panel Jumper features a special edition of the show, about the corruption of American youth by the evils of comics in the 1950s. The one-night-only gala also features a presentation of ‘Stop, Thief!’, a short play by Bret Fetzer and Juliet Waller Pruzan, music by indie-singer-songwriter Aaron J. Shay, and telling of a thrilling, original superhero epic ‘The Adventures of Rocketman & Beano.’ The evening also includes special guests Kazu Kibuishi, and a live podcast recording of Perfect Bound. Best of all, The Panel Jumper Live will contain a nerd-tastic burlesque by Sally Savant.
Tickets to The Panel Jumper Live cost only $10, and can be purchased in advance through Brown Paper Tickets or at the door, as long as they last. Attendees must be at least 18 years old, and ready to enjoy
