Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4th, is the deadline for submitting ballots in the Seattle City Election. Please, vote your ballot and get it in to the mail, or the drop box at the Seattle Public Library Ballard Branch, by 8p Tuesday evening.
Make sure you vote!
In the 2014 general election, 66% of Seattle voters decided on a dramatic change to our election of City Council Members. The new District System works best if voters pay attention to their candidates, and choose the best ones – but the system won’t work if Seattle’s registered voters don’t vote.
As of the last Friday before this election, only 13% of King County ballots had been returned. Those who voted early should feel good about performing their civic responsibility. The rest of us still have a day to get our ballots in.
Grab a pen, find your ballot and fill it in. Fremont is represented by two at-large Councilmembers, in positions #8 & #9. We also have two districts that represent us.
West Fremont is in District #6, and our candidates are:
- Stan Shaufler
- Mike O’Brien (incumbent)
- Jon Lisbin
- Catherine Weatbrook
East Fremont is in District #4, and our candidates are:
- Abel Pacheco
- Rob Johnson
- Michael Maddux
- Tony Provine
- Jean Godden (incumbent)
Seattle ballots also include primary elections for some Port Commissioners, and the King County Elections Director.
VOTE, please, and exercise your right to decide the future of our city!!
