On Tuesday, July 19th, 7:10p, the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) Board of Directors invites everyone to bring their comments, concerns and questions on the 2016 Solstice Parade to a public meeting and debrief, being held at the FAC Powerhouse workshop.
The FAC holds its monthly, public meeting of the whole community (called the COW) on the second Tuesday of each month, starting at 7:10p. For July, they postponed the COW for a week, to ensure attendance by more FAC members, and to give more people an opportunity to participate.
This year, the FAC produced their legendary performance spectacular using a different model than in recent years. They used more volunteers and, due to a sharp drop in donations, a whole lot less money. This resulted in more creative problem solving, and a slightly altered Solstice Parade.
If you participated in the 2016 Parade, or watched from the sidelines, the FAC Board wants to hear what you think – and what you want to see for the 2017 Parade. Due to upheaval within the organization, planning for the 2016 Parade started much later than usual (in late April.) The FAC Board plans to start planning soon for 2017, and they need to hear from you to make next year’s Solstice Celebration the very best ever.
Please plan to attend the July 19th public meeting – and help spread the word to anyone you think might want to give input. Find more info on the FAC, and its performance art events, at fremontartscouncil.org
