On Thursday, October 10th, from 6p – 7:30p, in the B.F. Day Elementary School Cafeteria the Seattle Department of Parks & Recreation has invited everyone to come and provide input on proposed renovations to the play area at B.F. Day Elementary School. Seattle Parks representatives will be on-hand to explain the project, its scope, and show what is available for new play equipment.
Right now, Seattle Parks is asking for participation in an on-line survey (click here) about the renovation of the play area.
At the October 10th meeting, attendees will be able to learn about installation of new play equipment, improvements to the adjacent picnic area, replacement of the drinking fountain, and upgrades to the accessibility of the playground in compliance of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Attendees will also be asked to give input on the design of the renovations, and help envision future use of the space.
A second meeting will be held, on December 5th, to present the design of the renovations, and to collect final feedback.
Funding for the park renovations is being provided by the Seattle Park District. Find out more about this project on the Seattle.gov website (click here.)
