Rapunzel Lets Down Her Hair, Once Again

Local artist, Rodman Gilder Miller, has repaired his iconic neon sculpture on the Fremont Bridge so that his depiction of Rapunzel once again showed her glowing locks.

Miller has several pieces of art on display around Fremont, including glass flowers in the fence around the Fremont Starbucks location, the Blue Plate Special finials on the second floor above the Fremont PCC, and the Sputnik installation over the backdoor of the Dreamland Bar & Diner.  His neon sculptures on the Fremont Bridge, both ‘Elephant’s Child’ and ‘Rapunzel’, require maintenance and care to keep them lit and shining.

The Fremont Chamber of Commerce may be funding the latest repairs, through its Art Fund.  For now, Miller has paid for these improvements personally, from money made selling his glass art – on his website (click here,) and through the Down Under Gallery.

Rapunzel now shines bright and glowing over the bicycle counter and pedestrian path along the Fremont Bridge.  Enjoy the sight, and the iconic art, created and cared for by Rodman Gilder Miller!
